The Austrian Edelweiss Dance group was formed in the spring of 1978 with an objective to share and preserve traditional Austrian folk dances, including a vast repertoire of waltz, polkas and schuhplattling. Over the past decades, the group has performed at events across Canada and the USA, most well known for their participation in Regina’s multicultural festival, Mosaic, and performances in senior care centres within the Regina and surrounding area.

The ensemble is a sub-group of “The Austrian Canadian Edelweiss Club of Regina”. As such has supported the main club by performing and volunteering at various functions over the years since its establishment in 1978.

The group is composed of three sub-groups; Juniors, Intermediates and Senior dancers, with dancers starting at the age of five. The group is always looking to expand their membership and invites anyone interested regardless of their cultural background or dance experience.
