Sharing German food and culture one bite at a time.
Food is an important part of the culture in German-speaking countries – it is a symbol of identity. Food brings people together, it brings back memories and creates new ones; it is part of our culture and tells us about culture. Join us for a culinary adventure!
Culture in the Kitchen: A Multicultural Cooking Series
This cooking series is all about sharing food & culture! As host, the SGC invites other cultural group to cook with us. Cooking instructors from both cultures introduce regional dishes of their country and speak about the food history and cultural traditions.
In small groups, participants learn to cook one German and one other cultural dish. The fun and safe environment encourages attendees to share their own stories, fostering cross-cultural understanding and building a stronger community.
